CAC Group Announces Two Key Leadership Appointments: Eric Joost as COO and Grantland Rice, IV as CAO

DENVER (June 22, 2023) — CAC Group, a national insurance brokerage business that includes CAC Specialty and Cobbs Allen, announced today two leadership appointments. Eric Joost, will serve as Chief Operating Officer and Grantland Rice, IV as Chief Administrative Officer.

“Throughout their careers, Eric and Grantland have positioned themselves as well-respected leaders within the industry and the organization,” said Michael Rice, CEO at CAC Group. “They have played an integral role in improving company strategy and developing innovative growth initiatives. We are thrilled to recognize their leadership with these befitting promotions.”

In his new role, Eric will identify and manage operational risks, develop best practices for organizational processes, and provide oversight for CAC Specialty’s operational resources. Grantland will be responsible for executing organizational goals, scaling new initiatives and guiding financial benchmarks and goals.

Eric previously led CAC Specialty as Chief Technology and Global Markets Officer, heading market relations and all technology efforts. Prior to joining CAC Specialty, he served as Global Head of Property & Casualty for Willis Towers Watson. Eric holds a Master of Business Administration in Marketing and Finance from Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University.

Grantland joined Cobbs Allen in 2013 and has served in many roles over the years, including Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. He played key roles in the geographic expansion within Cobbs Allen and the formation of CAC Specialty. He is active within the sector, serving on several CIAB committees, including one that looks at future risks impacting the industry.

Before joining Cobbs Allen, Grantland was an Audit Manager with Sellers Richardson Holman & West, focused on manufacturing, education, and investment clients. Grantland has a Master of Accountancy Degree from the Harbert College of Business and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, both from Auburn University.
