Max is Vice President of CAC Specialty’s Contingent Risk Practice, where he procures insurance solutions for his clients to provide strategic certainty around contingent legal assets and liabilities. CAC’s Contingent Risk Practice has placed more than $4.5 billion in insurance coverage in the contingent risk markets. On the basis of these placed policies, the team has facilitated dozens of financings, unlocking for clients hundreds of millions of dollars in liquidity.
Before joining CAC Specialty, Max started his legal career at Quinn Emanual Urquhart & Sullivan, one of the world’s largest corporate litigation law firms, where he prosecuted multimillion-dollar complex litigations. Max also clerked with the Honorable Cathy Seibel on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and the Honorable Denny Chin for the Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. He then practiced law at BraunHagey & Borden, a litigation boutique specializing in bet-the-company litigations.
Max’s diverse background as a complex corporate litigator and clerk at both the Federal District Court and Court of Appeals levels gives him a depth of experience in evaluating potential litigation assets and exposures. It helps him think creatively and credibly about potential insurance solutions. Max received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, and was Editor-in-Chief of the Fordham Law Review. He received his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
