Matthew Cate

As Senior Vice President of Employee Benefits at CAC Agency, Matthew partners with clients to build valuable and sustainable benefits programs. With more than 10 years of experience, he and his team provide guidance on offering comprehensive benefits at the best possible cost and employee experience.

Prior to joining, Matthew was a medical device representative for Stryker Instruments, where he sold and consulted on neurosurgical equipment.

Matthew is never satisfied with the status quo and is continually looking to grow as a consultant. He is a Benefits Team Leader responsible for the training and development of CAC Agency Benefits Consultants. He is active in the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers Employee Benefits Leadership Forum, serving as a member of the Practice Leader Peer Group to help develop industry best practices and standards. He is also a regular participant in The Healthcare Innovation Congress, which aims to provide the best in market solutions for Wellness and health improvement within Employer-Sponsored Health Plans.

Matthew received the 2014 WolfPack Award, recognizing him as the top Associate Producer, and the 2016 Grizzly Award, recognizing him as the top Senior Producer. Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his four children and wife, Julie.

He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Auburn University.
