Margaret Grote

Margaret Grote is a Vice President, Claims Advocate for the Natural Resources Practice at CAC Specialty. She holds multiple certifications, including Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Marine Insurance Management (AMIM), and Associate in Claims (AIC). Additionally, she is licensed as an All Lines Adjuster in Texas and holds non-resident adjuster licenses in Louisiana and Florida.

Margaret has over three decades of experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on handling complex claims involving serious injuries and substantial property damage. Previously, Margaret served as a Claims Manager at Ryan Specialty / Smooth Waters, LLC, where she oversaw staff management and training within the Marine & Energy Claims Department. Her responsibilities also included managing, evaluating, and negotiating complex energy, marine, liability, and cargo claims, often through litigation and mediation.

Her career spans roles at Zurich Global Energy, AI Marine Adjusters (AIG), Trident Marine Managers, Inc., St. Paul Companies, and United Services Automobile Association (USAA), among others. Margaret has demonstrated expertise in field investigation, negotiation, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR), achieving excellent results in binding mediation and arbitration.
