John brings with him 34 years of experience and a wealth of knowledge in risk control, construction, mining, renewable energy, and oil and gas industries.John began his working career in the construction and mining area of Gillette, Wyoming in 1985. Before joining CAC, John served 25 years as Senior Vice President of Risk Control for Willis Towers Watson. He began as a Risk/Safety Manager on the State of Utah rolling OCIP in 1998 after working as the Regional Safety Manager for the Southwest Region of Ames Construction. He had worked for them when they bought his own fire safety supply installation and training company, Fire-Pro, which he founded in 1986, while attending the University of Utah.John attended the University of Utah, Rice Eccles School of Business with a focus on marketing. John holds several certifications in safety: CSP-Certified Safety Professional #18529, OSHA 502 (OSHA trainer), Mine Safety Health Instructor, American Red Cross First Aid/CPR Instructor, HAZWOPER Instructor; as well as many other OSHA acknowledgments, i.e., Train the Trainer (confined space, forklift, excavation etc.). He was an original member / founder of International Society of Mine Safety Professionals, which is now part of SME (Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration).
