Jim Cooley

Jim is the Vice President and Senior Loss Control Consultant with CAC. He has more than 25 years’ experience in the safety field and focuses primarily on the general industry construction, shipyard, and agriculture industries. In addition to assisting clients with their safety and loss control needs, Jim leads various training courses, and his vast experience also provides valuable insight into OSHA rules and regulations. Jim is an Authorized Trainer in both General Industry (OSHA 501) and Construction (OSHA 500). Jim recently was awarded the Certified Safety & Health Manager (CSHM) accreditation.

Before joining CAC, Jim retired from the Occupational Safety & Health Administration. He spent 11 years as a Compliance Assistance Specialist with OSHA. He promoted OSHA’s cooperative programs, training opportunities, and tools available to help employers prevent and reduce workplace fatalities, illnesses, and injuries. Jim also conducted safety audits for the State of Montana Department of Labor, Safety Bureau.

Jim has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University and is a Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM). He is retired from the U.S. Army with 21 years of active-duty service and received the Alabama Governor’s Safety and Health Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019.
