Jim Biggins

Jim Biggins is the Senior Vice President, Director of Risk Engineer in Natural Resources Practice. He primarily focuses on power and renewables but also supports the Oil & Gas and the Mining & Metals teams. Jim’s experience as an engineer makes him an asset to the team.

With 35 years of experience, Jim served 11 years as Managing Consultant for Global Risk Consultants and 26 years as Vice President, Senior Consultant at Marsh & McLennan, and led the power generation risk consulting practices at both companies. Jim has developed standards, guidelines, and conceptual designs for fire protection, performed design and field reviews, developed client policies and procedures, assisted in underwriter presentation, and collaborated with clients to drive risk program improvement.  Jim chairs several Technical Committees for NFPA, including the Technical Committee for Stationary Energy storage which is responsible for current Chair for NFPA 855.

Jim is a graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology where he earned his degree in Fire Protection & Safety Engineering.
