Ellis McConn

Ellis is a Vice President within CAC Specialty’s Natural Resources Practice. Prior to joining CAC, he worked in the oil & gas industry as a Land and Business Development professional for Upstream E&P companies. He started his career in 2008 at Dynamic Offshore Resources where he worked as an offshore landman. In 2010 Ellis joined a management team that received private equity backing to start Orca Petroleum, a privately held E&P company focused on developing unconventional assets in the Eagle Ford Shale, South Texas and the Permian Basin, West Texas. He worked at Orca as the Vice President of Land & Business Development where he managed the acquisition of new assets and executed profitable transactions for the company.

Ellis brings a unique perspective having worked in the Energy industry for 8 years prior to transitioning to Insurance. As a Vice President Ellis analyzes, designs, structures, and places complex risk management programs for upstream, midstream and oilfield service clients.

Ellis has a bachelor’s degree in political science & global business from the University of Houston. He has a Petroleum Land Management (PLM) certification from Texas Christian University.
