Deke Burns

Deke Burns is a Vice President, Producer for Business Development at CAC Specialty.

Prior to joining, Deke served as Associate Vice President at SCOR Reinsurance Company. He was instrumental in launching the Executive Risk team, marking SCOR’s first venture into this space. His role involved cross selling the SCOR platform, leading national broker marketing efforts, and assessing risk exposures for prospective clients and renewal deals.

Prior to SCOR, Deke worked as an Underwriting Consultant at Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company. He managed 60-70 deals annually for the Management Liability and Specialty Division, significantly growing the public D&O portfolio. He also oversaw the Boston sub-region and participated in the Nationwide Forum for Emerging Leaders Program.

Deke holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Harvard University, where he also studied Economics and was a member of the Men’s Varsity Lacrosse Team. He furthered his education with a course in Managerial Accounting and Financial Control at the London School of Economics.

Outside of work, Deke enjoys health and fitness, traveling, and is an avid golfer.
