David Thurber

David joined CAC Specialty in June of 2022 as Senior Vice President, Legal within the Senior Living Practice. With over three decades of experience, David possesses a strong background in senior living transactional work, and Professional Liability, and Employment Practices Liability claims management and consulting. He brings his extensive background in litigation, in executive and general counsel roles and insurance to provide creative and effective solutions to problems facing our customers. David pushes forward to understand the business and legal implications to the many issues faced by senior living clients. He works in partnership with owners, operators, and managers as they navigate what at times are very challenging waters.

Prior to joining CAC Specialty, David resided with The Alliance Insurance Group working with their many senior care clients on their business and litigation issues. Prior to that he held legal and executive roles with Sunwest Management Company and SAIF Corporation. David earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln before furthering his education at the University of Nebraska Law School where he obtained his juris doctorate. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Pam and family, fly fishing, and exploring the Black Hills of western South Dakota where he lives.
