William Cho

William Cho is a senior claims executive with more than 20 years of experience representing energy and natural resources companies in complex insurance matters worldwide. He leads claims advocacy strategy for upstream, midstream, downstream, power generation, utilities, renewable energy, and marine clients, serving as a trusted advisor throughout the lifecycle of high-severity and technically complex claims.

William specializes in large-scale property damage, business interruption, control of well, offshore construction, marine casualties, pollution liability, and catastrophe-driven losses. His experience spans onshore and offshore energy assets, including fixed platforms, FPSOs, semi-submersibles, jack-ups, pipelines, export terminals, solar, wind and geothermal facilities, battery energy storage systems, and mining operations.

He is known for his ability to integrate policy analysis, engineering realities, financial modeling, and negotiation strategy to maximize claim outcomes. William works closely with insureds, insurers, adjusters, forensic accountants, and technical experts to develop defensible claim narratives and achieve commercially sound resolutions. His approach combines deep technical knowledge of energy operations with a sophisticated understanding of policy language, coverage triggers, sublimits, deductibles, and complex layered insurance structures.

Prior to joining CAC, William handled a wide spectrum of global marine and energy claims arising from natural catastrophes, well control events, equipment failure, fire and explosion, pipeline rupture, allision, mooring failures, and environmental pollution incidents.

William holds bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and economics from Vanderbilt University and a master’s degree in general management from Harvard University. He is actively involved in industry leadership initiatives and regularly collaborates with underwriting, legal, and risk management stakeholders to advance best practices in claims advocacy for the natural resources sector.
