Sharon Chappell

Sharon Chappell serves as an Assistant Vice President, Claims & Client Advocacy within the Natural Resources Practice at CAC Specialty, a role she has held since joining the company in June 2022. Sharon is dedicated to guiding clients through the claims process, ensuring claims are resolved efficiently, accurately, and to the fullest extent possible. She also provides strategic claims advocacy and education, helping clients navigate complex risk and insurance matters with confidence.

With extensive experience in the middle-market sector, Sharon has handled a broad range of claims, including workers’ compensation, automobile liability, property, and general liability exposures. Over the past several years, she has focused on serving clients in the power generation, utility, and renewable energy industries, developing specialized expertise in the unique risks and challenges facing these sectors.

Prior to joining CAC Specialty, Sharon spent seven years as a Senior Risk Management Associate at Ram Tool Construction Supply, where she managed day-to-day claims operations and collaborated closely with legal, loss prevention, and operational teams to identify opportunities to reduce workplace accidents, injuries, and related losses. Earlier in her career, she spent a decade with Wausau Insurance Company as a Workers’ Compensation and Employer’s Liability Adjuster, managing claims across multiple jurisdictions and gaining deep expertise in complex claim matters.

Sharon is a member of the Alabama Chapter of the Risk Management Society (RIMS). She holds an Alabama Property & Casualty Producer License and has earned the Workers’ Compensation Legal Specialist (WCLS), Workers’ Compensation Law Associate (WCLA), and Associate in Claims (AIC) designations. She is currently pursuing her Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation.

Sharon earned her Bachelor’s degree from Auburn University, with dual minors in Business and Chemistry.
