Jeremy Matthies

Jeremy Matthies is a Strategic Advisor to the Tax Insurance Practice at CAC Specialty.

As a tax insurance specialist Jeremy relies on his corporate law and investment banking experience to advise on tax insurance placements for corporate, private equity and family office clients.

Jeremy has been a tax insurance broker/producer in Canada since 2021. Prior to entering the insurance industry Jeremy spent six years as general counsel of a TSX 200 energy services company and four years as general counsel at a large Canadian-based private healthcare aggregator. Before moving in-house, Jeremy spent time as the vice president, corporate finance at a Canadian investment banking firm. Upon graduating from law school Jeremy spent seven years as an associate at Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP in the firm’s corporate securities group.

Jeremy graduated from the College of Law at the University of Saskatchewan where he was a member of the U of S Huskies Hockey team. Jeremy is a member of the Law Society of Alberta.

Jeremy is a licensed insurance broker in Canada and Canadian domiciled insurance policies are effectuated through his relationship with Canadian brokerage Acera Insurance Services Ltd.
